Who could resist the charm and romance of Cadaques? Home of the celebrated surrealist artist Salvador Dali until shortly before his death in 1989, his eccentric legacy lives on. Much loved by artists for its exceptional light and atmosphere, it draws you under its’ spell. To have a drink in one of the many bars is to follow in the footsteps of Dali, Picasso and the poet Lorca. Reading a newspaper or people-watching is the perfect way to spend an hour or two, unwind and connect with history.

Below you will find some of our favorite things to do in Cadaques, including visits to Dali's house, world class restaurant Compartir and much more. All but Cap de Creus are within an easy ten minute stroll from Casa Es Puig.

Compartir

Compartir Cadaques offers some of Catalonia's most innovative and delicious cuisine.

This exciting restaurant opened in Cadaques in 2012, Michelin recommended, it is led by chefs Mateu Casañas, Oriol Castro and Eduard Xatruch of El Bulli fame.

Compartir, meaning to share in Spanish, offers some of the most dynamic, original and delicious cuisine in Catalonia. The menu features markedly modern dishes and also more traditional local favorites reimagined. Comfortable, stylish and hip, this is the perfect gastronomic treat for any foodie with a relaxed vibe.

The staff are delightful, welcoming and friendly, and we are happy to help you arrange a table for lunch or dinner.

Cap De Creus

Walk the Cami de Ronda, the footpath which runs along the the coast from Roses to Cap de Creus, the most easterly point of the Iberian Peninsular. In springtime many wild flowers, rock roses and lavender scramble among the terraces. Also Tudela, now part of the national park, where the rocks fold into the incredible colours and shapes is now a breathtaking circular walk featuring uniquely weird and wonderful rocks recognisable from many of Dali’s paintings.

Cap de Creus restaurant, open year round, serves delicious food and tapas whilst you take in stunning views across the foothills of the Pyrenees to France. Come for tapas, dinner, a glass of wine or a beer.

In the summer months there is music playing on most nights somewhere around Cadaques. Magical.
